Before starting
Before you begin, make sure that you have everything you need.
Materials
● New showerhead
● Towel or Rag
● Pliers/Adjustable Wrench
● Thread Seal Tape
Step 1: Remove the old showerhead
Turn the showerhead counterclockwise to see if it can be removed by hand. To prevent it from moving, wrap the towel/towel around it and twist the wrench or pliers counterclockwise until it is removed. To avoid damaging the shower arm, it is essential not to put too much pressure on it.
Step 2: Clean the old connection
Most likely, there will be scale, rust or grime from the old showerhead. Use a rag to clean the connections from the inside and outside.
Step 3: Apply Thread Seal Tape
Use 2-3 layers of thread seal tape clockwise around the threads on the shower arm. To ensure a snug fit, press the tape into the threads.
Step 4: Install your showerhead
Your new shower head should be easy to attach by hand. Simply place the new shower head on the arm of the shower and turn in a clockwise fashion until it is secure. To protect your showerhead, wrap a towel around it if you're using pliers/wrenches to tighten the connection.
5 - Look for leaks
Turn on the shower and inspect for leaks. Turn off the water if there are any leaks. Repeat steps 3 through 4 until you find no leaks.
